Dances with Wolves

Rules for Movie Memory Duel:
1)  Both halves of Brerin must have watched the movie together. 
2)  It must be at least 3 months since having seen the movie. 
3) Each half is given 3 minutes to compose their honest memories of the movies.

So this is a long movie. Probably about 3 hours. I think we finished it over two nights. Anyways, Kevin Costner. He’s an American settler from the old days? He either chooses to or gets ordered/deported to go out west and find somewhere else to live. While out there he meets some of the local Native Americans and thinks to himself “Hey, I like these people better than my own people” and he assimilates himself into the tribe. The tribe likes him and I think he becomes a valued tribesman. Eventually he even marries the chief’s daughter or something like that. However, the time comes when American settlers want the tribe’s land I think and then they invade and attack the Native Americans. Kevin Costner (I think they give him the name Dances with Wolves?) helps the Native Americans but they lose.

I’m pretty sure I was asleep for about an hour of this movie but there is a guy (Kevin Costner?) who is living alone on the prairie, trying to get a farm going, and he has some conflicts with the local Native Americans. Actually maybe at first he had a friend with him who gets killed by the Native Americans. At some point this guy realizes that there is a white woman living with the Native Americans and somehow they become friends. Kevin Costner also sees a wolf one time. Maybe they became friends too. But then the white woman and Kevin Costner fall in love and their love is the beginning of Kevin Costner’s integration within the Native American tribe. He starts to hang out with them. His wolf friend dies and he acts like he’s going to leave with the Native Americans but then he turns back.
